The links didn't seem to work for me, I'm afraid. They went to glofoto, but no bubul or any other pics in sight.
Sad to hear about you losses

Ants are a problem here too , mostly the meat ants , we got to the point where we couldn't feed our staffy outside without him being attacked by them .
Council has had 2 goes at poisoning the nests but there is still activity around the place .
As for the birds , last time I wormed them the sweetener in the syrup ( even though diluted) added to the water attracted smaller ants which drowned in the water ,luckily they didn't get to the nests but I'm sure if the wormer was left in much longer it would have happened .
My aviary and cages are all suspended so spraying with ant spray keeps the smaller ones at bay so far ( touch wood ) .

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Sorry to hear about everyones ant problems. Touch wood they seem to have been controlled round here by the various poisons that were administered a couple of months ago. Now if the mice were just so easy to control. Drought years seem to equal excess mice in town. And they do disturb the avairy inhabitants.

Well the Coopex gave my ants a lesson they won't forget. As you will see it's been raining ants inside below the brush. I had to remove the treats tray as it was filling up with dead black ants and I didn't trust the birds not to eat them or for Coopex to be as harmless as everyone believes.
All the black dots are ants.

Coopex is very effective stuff, where ants and other insect pests are concerned. And while it is supposed to be fine to let the birds dispose of them. I like you Greg prefer to err on the side of caution and sweep up the remains.
