Where to buy Mealworms

My regular Supplier is out of Meal worms and i'm looking for another supplier.

I've tried Birds R Us but was disappointed with their quality and they were expensive.

There is a website www.martynsmealworms.com.au that i have tried but processed an order and never heard back from them. They do not have any contact details on their website, Ive tried emailing them but no answer. Has anyone else ordered from this company.

I have also tried to contact Pieses Enterprises but they do not want to know a private breeder, they only deal with wholesale enquiries.

I have started breeding them myself but do not breed enough to keep me going.

Looking to buy 1kg to 2kg's at a time.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Back when I worked bird retail we used to order in big bags (ie: 1-2kg) for clients on special order. You might contact your preferred retailer and see if they would be willing to do this for you. If they are really good, they might even be so kind as to give you a call each time they are ready to place an order and check if you need another bag...

Aquarium/reptile shop?
Ive bought mealworms from both, not in 1 and 2kg packs though. The bait and tackle place did have bigger boxes.

Pisces will sell them to you if you tell them you are a wildlife breeder with a wildlife license.I am set up with Pisces, It is a little bit of work setting up an account with them as they will ask for a copy of your license, Places where you have accounts etc...If you read the add in the Birdkeeper mag it will tell you above.There are one or two other big suppliers around aswell, some use here.

I will try again, i have wrote to them twice already and have received no reply's, as i'm building new aviaries i will be ordering even more.

Mealwoms are in real short supply at the moment. This is normal for this time of the year.
Those that stick with the one supplier through feast or famin will generally get supplied year round.
Try John on 0448837758 I think he charges $45 per KG plus freight, I am not sure if he is taking on more clients.
I know he stopped supply on a group who decided to buy off someone else @$5 a KG cheaper then when the other supplier couldn't supply
they came back hat in hand but he wouldn't supply them.

If Pisces keep giving you greif, send me a PM & I'll get them to send some down, I've still got my wholesale account with them, same priceas breeders get, but another way round the system.
