Well the super hot weather hasn't deterred the aviary activity. Went out and have 7 Young Ghouldians in the aviary as well as the 6 young quails and then theres the monster aviary (monster as in beastly not size only small really) of my daughters where the Zebras do nothing but breed breed breed. Even removed all but one nesting box but they just take turns to have there 6 babies at a time. :purplex:
Off to pet shop tomorrow to sell/swap some of the Zebras (don't say that about me i have too many).

Anyway thought you might be interested. Happy Autumn everyone

Congratulations on the breeding success. I take all of the nest boxs out of the Zeb avairy. And just select breed pairs seperately.
Saves on excessive over population of the avairy, cause they don't know when to stop.

Found a nice older style pet shop today (actually Bushranger (dad) put me onto it) with a owner who knows and seems to like his animals. He gave me the equiv. of $3.00 each so ended up with a new light tube for aquarium and 10kg bag of finch mix, and an offer to bring any extra zebras up when ready. may have found a way to offset overall seed bill. :penguin: But yes will definitely remove the nest boxes now the latest clutch has fledged, BEFORE buggers lay even more eggs.

LOL! we had the same problem with our quails, so for a couple of months took the eggs out. We are now letting them have another clutch. Well done on the gouldians too. We have a few chicks also, not sure how many yet. They have certainly put all our other birds to shame! got it right first go.
