I put a tuscan in last week and the sparrows haven't touched it ...might have to replace the soft leaf plants with the Kale .

U wait Jusdeb until every thrip, white fly, grasshopper and aphid finds it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seems not only birds like it................I have the "holiest" kale but nary a bite out of the silverbeet which is next to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kale is rich in calcium, contain a bit of oxalic acid which aint real desireable but then so does silverbeet.

Mind u if the oxalic acid bit worries you most parrots love the weed Fat Hen which is full of the stuff............never had (touching wood!!) a problem with egg-binding or other calcium problems with feeding it regularly..........

bugger oh well the ones Ive got in are edible . Got the bird netting up , looks a little Opera Housish but no matter it will keep the sparrows out .

Other half commented that it would also keep birds in ....say the visiting Crimson wings  settle folks it was a joke. :shifty:
