Hi i am looking how to expand my gouldian finches diet some.
At the moment they are eating a foriegn finch food which constists of a range of millits, canary seed and a tiny amount of niger which they dont really eat.
I also provide charchoal, avian trio in a finger pot along with powdered kelp. I feed them egg food *try them on live, which they ignore* and greens such as brocalli and herbs which they pick at. They dont touch soaked seed.
I have recently tried them on bue maw-poppy seeds and they do seem to pick at this. I was thinking of introducing some wild british seeds and some herb seeds, i bought for my gold finches.
What do you think of this? worth a try?

Try planting some of your seed in hanging baskets or pots and giving them these when they have green seed on. 2 or 3 baskets to rotate would be ideal.
