Further to my post 27 March with a query on gouldian eggs and when to check them, well this afternoon was in the aviary feeding and cleaning when I heard a few suspicious sounds in my RH nest Box and then saw the male leave the nest and alo saw the female out and about so thought hmmmmmm lets have a quick look.

Opened up the lid and on looking in saw 5 aliens looking up at me. Funny little critters, about 1.5 inches long, fat as mud, Bright pink with almost glowing dots inside their dark mouths. So either the invasion has started or me the newbie has 5 baby gouldians.

On closing the lid, I noticed the female RH, sitting on a branch about 6 inches from my head watching the nest box. As soon as I gave her room she was straight into the box.

I am happy!!! :D
