Just to add re the Noisy Pitta thing.
Althought the Noisy Pitta is a good looking bird I had the fortune and pleasue of observing and handfeeding wild Red Bellied Pittas a number of years ago whilst on a Barra Fishing trip camped at the Mango Farm, Daly River NT. If the Gouldian Finch is rated as one of the most beautiful birds in the world then this little fellow shouldn't be far behind. Heaps of attitude and just a joy to look at. I must say althought I caught heaps of barra but when someone says "Daly River"the first thing that pops into my head is this little feathered jewel and not the big silver fish. Strange how the mind works isn't it?
