The best thing I found was that if you did get mice in the aviary if mounted clear of perches or wire the mice cant get to them :thumbup:

theres a guy on ebay that sells the metal folded things, being looking at them for a few years now but just never got around to trying them, i keep my boxes on a shelf. but yeh search ebay for em :)

good idea the flat plate.I use 10g wire on mine and hang them.

Well I dont need 25 of them which is how many the ebay seller is selling at a time .... the 10g wire sounds good , whats the best way to do it that way ? please .

Finished fitting out my Precision Aviary today. Liitle Button Quail are in with the Red Strawbs to join them in the morning.

I recall someone on AFF advising to keep boxes away from the metal sides if possible due to cold. To try reduce the impact (since I have attached to the walls, I have glue sections of a compressed cell sleeping mat normally used for camping. Did the same to the ‘Hotel’ I built.

Other benefits are that it stops the box/hotel damaging the colorbond and keeps the box upright.

BTW: LBQ are gorgeous little birds.
