A beautiful bird - English / European in origin loves the cold (including snow) and is know to breed like sparrows both in the UK and in New Zealand? Yep.

Why are we not spening more time breeding these hardy birds? Excellent Question - is it because of the cost blow out on this species?

Cost is now over $1,250 a pair in Victoria and is hard to find unrelated birds - we need to do better here before they go the way of so many others before them...
