Hey Everyone,
Just curious does anyone know anything about the genetics or inheritance of the fawn mutation in star finches?
Thanks,

Most fawns tend to be sex linked, but a few are recessive. Are yours breeding? What do you have? And if they are breeding what have the results been so far? Might be able to work it out with that info, if no one else answers.

from what ive read they are recessive.

Oh sorry its not a yellow head normal cock just a yellow head so there shouldn't be any red head in there.Tiaris wrote:That mating will produce red-headed young split to both fawn and yellow-headed.
So it will hopefully just be yellow head split fawn young.
