waxbills are my favourite finch group of all time, and it includes all the blue ones

I have received a pair each of:
Saint Helenas (fawn)
Cordons
Jacarinis
Tri-Nuns
from E Orix

now I realise nuns and jacarinis aren't waxbills

They are so beautiful it's been so long since I've had the dear cordons... already chirpy-chirp-chirp-ing in the sun!
On a not-unrelated note, MY AVIARY WILL BE OFFICIALLY DONE THIS AFTERNOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just have to secure the last piece of wire, and cover over the drainage hole so mice can't get in

Interestingly, I was playing around with my recording device yesterday, and I recorded the saint's calls... I played them back and the saints went into a frenzy with calls they had not previously made. A bir cruel, perhaps, so I stopped. I am looking forward to seeing what happens when I get my other pair of saint helenas from Matt

I will post videos of the big release on youtube after I have released them (obviously

by the way, for those interested there is a big poultry show this weekend... is anyone else going? it's here in canberra. I will be attending

chickens, other poultry, pheasants and quail, I think.
9-5 today, 9-2 tomorrow.
So excited! I'm off to eat brekkie in front of their box so I can observe them for a bit
