i also noticed that the media yesterday were talking about this person and his "hunger strike" outside the RSPCA...let him starve I say. The civil libertarians were out claiming his rights and how the bird would be stressed without its owner...I can only hope the RSPCA re-house this bird to a loving owner/family...I'm sure that in time the bird would bond with a new owner who has more than 2 brain cells like the previous owner....I can't help but respond to the comments about dogs as status symbols...I don't want to generalise, however I have 2 American Bulldogs (no not pit bulls)...they look like a large white boxer and have a similar temprament....they are often perceived as intimidating...because they look intimidating...but they are my families loving pets...my daughter (now 9) has always been the second master (after me) to these dogs...they have always listened to her instructions, however I was never stupid enough to leave her on her own with them when she was younger...Although my dogs are part of my family, they are also there to do a job...protect my family....if you came into my house with me...they would love you...if you came into my house when i was away and my wife and daughter were home alone...you wouldn't come out the same way you went in....this has not been taught...it is their nature....I make no apologies for this....as all dogs do, my dogs see our family as part of their pack...they protect. So when people come into my house when my wife is alone...i make sure they are put away for everyone's safety....I have always had a large dog (previously a Sheppard)...that's because I like a dog i can wrestle and play with...it's not a status symbol...so please don't generalise.
I could go on and on....but I treat dog/bird (animal) ownership as a privellege...I choose to have them so it is my responsibity to ensure i meet their needs...those who cannot (or choose not) do this should be big enough to not have pets....cheers, Paul

If this twit chooses to starve himself then let him be . What an idiot . Probably do us all a favour if he did indeed starve to death . Yep the bird is going to adapt and blossom with a new owner .

After pleading guilty to animal cruelty this fool has his bird back....now that makes a lot of sense....I'm just hoping that he understands how cruel is actions were and doesn't repeat the stunt...although he doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed from watching the news report this morning..regards, Paul
