How long can you leave egg food in the aviary?,
My recipe is:
3 eggs
3 egg shells
1 spinach leaf
1 cup of bird seed
1/2 cup of Vetafarm finch crumbels
1/2 Veta farm minrals and shell grit

In winter I leave it , theres never any left anyway and its not hot enough for it to go off .
In summer all fresh foods are given early am and taken out at lunchtime .
Would it be better to give the grits in a separate bowl since they are not perishable ? Seems you are throwing out something that could be left in the aviary for them to graze on at will .
Oh do share your bird bread recipe too .

My finches dont always eat it all. I put the shell grit in ther couse its really good for them and they like the egg food and when they eat the egg food they also eat the grit. They also really like the Vetafarm crumbles and spinach in it.
