it would be a good idea to ask that question before you put it near them dont you think? what type of heater?
a local heat source works well for me, small light globe that my gouldians can go under if they need it. the one with the missing feathers wont need the heat unless she is puffed and looks sick, but the male with the broken leg may to help him with the stress??? how bad is the break??? is the leg at right angles??

It is a fan powers heater yeah the legs in the right postionnbuut it blessed a bit.

I would be careful with having a fan heater too near them. How close is it to them? you don't want them to get too hot or dehydrated. Also if they get too used to the heat you will need to slowly acclimatise them to cooler weather so they can go back into an outdoors aviary.

Nathan I would try to get hold of heat lamp, this is a much more safer way to give the birds heat, with this type of heat the birds will get close to it when they need the warmth and go away when they get to hot as well as being more cost affective on the power bill. I've just purchased a reptile heat lamp and finding this to be sufficient heat source.
