NEW TO KEEPING GOULDIANS

Hi all.
I am new to keeping gouldians, i have one pair of red head white breast, one pair normals, and two males and one hen which i was told are splits they seam to have a lot more blue on them around the head and rump area.
My question is when it comes time to breed them, can they stay in there pairs that i have just described which they are now, or do they have to be separated EG Males in one cage hens in another, and what about the white breasted pair can they be breed together or is that a no no. I do not know much about there background (how old etc). i would be greatfull of any help, thankyou.

Hi bluedog and welcome to the forum
Gouldians can be kept together all year or can be separated into single sex aviaries, it all depends on the space you have available for them.
A lot of breeders now prefer to keep the one head colour together as its getting harder to find a pure headed gouldian these days. Gouldians and other species Im sure do some "nest hopping" if you get my meaning!
With the white chests, there is no problem if they pair up.

We do have access to a free database on the forum where you can enter your birds details so that you can track their heritage, Ive found it a great help.
