Cats kill for sport . not for food .

Every time a cat catches a critter it strengthens the desire to kill again .

They should not be allowed in the country , sorry to the responsible owners but you are a minority .

Spay them all and let the specie die out . Simple .

As for the ferals , there's talk of a $10 bounty going on foxes out here , well why not make it cats as well ?

I know why because its not a black and white world

Hi Tintola I would speak to your local council because in NSW, Councils can place a nuisance order on the owner of the cat under the Comapanion Animals Act 1998 restricting the cat to their premises. Breach of the order (proven) results in a penalty notice being issued to the owner. This may solve the problem if the owner keeps getting hit in the hip pocket.

i second this motion, seriously i am sick and tired of cats in my yard. if any one out there can organise some sort of action i.e. petition or the like, i would be keen to help out.

I have trapped cats to only have them return the next week back in my yard. I AM P#*%ED OFF! Rang the council and they said they cant do anything, even though i had kept records of dates and details, so they would have to know who the owners are.

i am at the moment planning to buy a cat trap and drown the cats in the creek across the road.

Not too much problem with neighbours cats here but we do get these stinking little sewer cats that hide in the stormwater drains .
They have evolved to be not much bigger than a good sized rat and can escape in a flash .

Don't beat around the bush ,do you? Funny how we don't hesitate to kill, drown mice and rats but there seems to be a hesitation and revulsion about drowning cats. Have a cup of tea and a lay down, it will pass.

You guys think you have problems , try kangaroos that eat all your seeding grass , knock over fences and eat the partners roses I cant seem to find a cat trap big enough for the buggers....pete

If you trap cats only to have them return, you aren't dealing with them appropriately upon capture.

Given that anyone who lets a cat roam at will obviously doesn't give a rats , then the chances of the critter being chipped , vaccinated etc are likely to be very slim .

A humane way of disposing of the cat is to leave it at the night box at the local pound ...the owner needs to cough up $$$$ to retrieve it if they want it which usually puts the owners off .

The cat is either neutered and rehomed or knocked ...win win unless your unlucky enough to have the bloody thing rehomed back in your neighborhood.

As much as I hate them I was quite disturbed when I found a she cat and her kittens floating in a potato sack at Shell Harbour many years ago ... a quick injection or gas is much kinder .

However in the bush a quick lead injection is equally as humane .
