Lord Derby's Parrot is more commonly called the Derbyan Parrot in Australia.
The Pesquet's parrot is an amazing bird. Was lucky enough to play with a youngster a while ago. I understand Poitta's reaction, but when you see them in the flesh they are very interesting and captive breeding is not commonly successful. The diet is one aspect. The nesting hollow is another. They seem to like chewing into palm logs. Cocks can be aggressive to hens and there are not many in captivity to begin with. You won't see many outside SE Asia.

I was plesently surprised with the improvements of late. It is
