Check out this little guy....took a big fly from one end of the aviary to the other today and then found a great little hiding spot...well, at least until I came poking about!
His parents had a nest of unfertile eggs for their first attempt and their second attempt resulted in an abandonment (you may remember my attempt at hand-rearing).
Still early days but it looks pretty good to me.
Long Tails - third time lucky!

Hoping for seven but guessing none....parents have been very unpredicatable. I actually have two pair and between them they have had five failed attempts since November last year. The other pair had three young back then and that was their first attempt and so far, only success.
The oily feathers on its tummy would suggest to me that there was at least another that died in the nest. Fingers crossed however that a second or even third will take the big flight tomorrow.
Given both pairs past difficulties, I am very excited about this little one.
