The forum has given me the confidence to try other species/mutations and the connection with other breeders to source good birds.
The menu of foods available to the birds now is far greater than when I first got the birds through this forum too.
Favourite area is the members pictures birds and aviaries. Cant get enough of seeing how others set up their aviaries.
What have you learnt ?

To me its a place to share your birdkeeping ups and downs .
A place to ask questions and learn from others with more experience .
A place to share my limited experience with others.
I love checking out other members bird photos and aviary builds .
I like the way the forum just knits together nicely despite so many different opinions and personalities ... common respect for each other (mostly
).
Thats not all ...

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

There are a lot of lovely helpful people on here who have a great love of finches and a quirky sence of humour. And who know more than me but are willing to read my occassional suggestions. And we all get it right and wrong at different times.

It is a source of advice and information, a place to share excitement and disappointments that non bird people cannot share, a great source of examples of "do's" and "don'ts". A constant reminder of how much I stil have to learn. A source of entertainment. A source of inspiration when I see other people's set ups. A way to meet local breeders. A forum to connect with people that I would not otherwise meet. A reminder that it takes all sorts of people to make the world go around...

Tolerance and how to bite my tongue! On the other hand it has given me the opportunity to expand the ever increasing circle of my adoring public.
Being already "world" famous in Murwillumbah, I found that the accolades were not coming forth as often as they deservedly should be, when I stopped work.
Oh, and suppose I've cyber-met a few nice people/victims and learnt a few things as well.
P.S. I've also learned humility and modesty.

I like the fact that everyone has a different tilt on things. The one thing we all have in common is that we all have finches as our primary interest. Other than that most things differ between us in our aviculture ie. our motivation, methods, experiences & ideas. Because of these differences, the forum allows us all to glean new ideas and approaches as we discuss all the various topics within.
