Just a quick question.
I have a pair of society finches in a cabinet and they have built a nest in the nesting box.
I think i might have to males as sometimes they both sing .
Will two males built nest even if a hen is not in there...????..

I'm no expert on Bengalese (haven't kept them since I was a kid). As far as I'm aware hens don't sing, so you've got two cocks. And yes 2 cocks will build a nest. But maybe wait for someone more knowledgeable to confirm my comments.

Yes they are great birds
They are not roosting in the nest. they have built the perfect nest they filled the box up.
The man i got the birds from showed me how to sex the Bengalese but i think he made a mistake. He is a nice man.

The cock does a song and dance routine. The hen does not. My bengos have always made nests, even when they were all boys. Now I have some hens and they are breeding. Unfortunately they seem to produce 3 boys to every girl. And they like to sleep in the nests on cold nights. If no eggs appear within a month (they need time to decide) you definately have a couple of males.

Harvey, if the hen had already started incubating before she abandoned then they would have to go under fosters within a few hours, but if she abandoned before she started incubating then you have around 7 days from the day they were laid.
