Hi Guys,
How Is everyone? i am a new member in this forum. i have two pair of finches in one cage. one pair is red faced parrot finch and the other is sea green parrot finch. red faced parrot finch already made the nest but the other pair didn't make any nest. yesterday i think one of the bird laid one egg. today when i check the nest i couldn't see the egg. i didn't understand what happened? what can i do now? i don't have any idea. anyone give me any suggestions please. thanks

Could have buried if they added more nest material...or maybe thin shelled and it broke so it was eaten...either way if she is laying rest assured more eggs are on the way...also try not to disturb them...it may make them desert the nest..

The egg could have been broken and the finches will eat the shell,it could be buried amongst the nesting material.
Missing egg or not do you think it's a good idea checking a nest to see if there are any eggs.
If you inspect too much it wouldn't matter if the eggs disappeared or not as the birds would most likely abandon the nest anyway.
Sadly enthuisiasm can result in many failed clutches of eggs. If you need to check nests around I week after you think the hen has been sitting and a further 7/10 days after the first inspection. then wait for the chicks to fledge.Sadly in the past I have lost too many chicks because of nest meddling,it has only taken me something like 20 years to realise it.
