A few pics i took today about 60ks from town . Went for a drive to try and find this species as i hadnt seen them in the wild. We got lucky. They are fantastic little birds to sit and watch for awhile but not quite as easy to photograph as the Splendids, Variegateds ect.The first pic was taken by Peta Clarke.

Very nice photos . they look a bit reptilian with that .....cant put it into words ..... the feathers look like spikes around the face .
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Mate, that first shot is a pearler!
I'd love to add it to my desktop wallpaper rotation. Any chance I could get the full resolution version? :D

Updated the post this morning with a few better pics.Enjoy .The Desert Park has hatched two chicks that are currently 10 days old and going well. They are claiming the success as a first breeding in captivity and i would love to know if they have previously been bred.Interestingly the incubation period was about 20 days which suprised me and the keepers. Similar species i believe hatch at around 12 days.We assumed Duskies would be the same as it makes sense for a bird that nests close to the ground to have a short incubation period.
