My first ever clutch 2 out six are (I believe) are female. One of the females is building a nest with one of the definate males, a sibling none the less!!
So is it time split them up?
I have read that someone only moves them away from mum and dad when their beaks are fully red/orange.this would be only a week to a fortnight away as they are changing extremely quickly they are around 47 days old(hatching on and fater 2nd August).
What I have seen that mum and dad have definately layed more eggs so the babies (Again believe)are quite independant.Dad still spends some time with them a little like bathing and eats the winter grass with them.
In advance Thankyou for replies!!

Should be fine to remove from the parents I would think. I remove most of my finches 3-4 weeks after fledging, which about fits with your zebs.

Yeah take them away. A young hen needs time to colour up and go thru the moult, different if it was a young cock to a mature hen i would let them go. But yes i wait until the beaks are Red or Yellow if Yellow-billed.
