Hello everyone,

A young finch, which we think may be a Diamond Finch, landed in my garden this morning. We are guessing, given we're in Victoria, that it is not a wild bird and will die if we set it free.

Is there anyone nearby with an aviary and an interest who would be willing to take the finch home? We are definitely not wanting to keep it!

We are in Hawthorn and would love to hear from you!

If it is easier, my mobile number is 0401 082 860.

Thanks!
Sarah

To update: we have received one kind offer to care for the finch but unfortunately they won't be able to pick it up until Wednesday. Given it is living in a box in the laundry, if anyone is able to pick it up earlier than Wednesday please get in touch!

Thankyou all, the little finch will soon have a new home.
Jluna we have set it up with water, some seed, some egg and biscuit mix and some grass seeds so it should be ok until it is picked up this evening. Thanks for the advice!
