What's the consensus on whether or not it's safe or advisable to keep bush budgies (NOT the domestic budgie) with finches in a largish aviary?

well i would say it would be fine in a largish aviary because the bush budgies are much smaller then the domestic budgie but then again i have never tryed it so maybe do bit of research on there behaviour compared with the domesticated budgie but good luck with it.

I wouldn't put them in with any 'decent' finches. You'd be far better off with neophema family parrots.

Im kinda thinking that all budgies are pretty boisterous little buggers and once one starts on another bird they tend to all turn into bullies.
Give it a go if you want and just keep a very close eye on things , I think from memory that bush budgies will still rip apart finch nests but this is only what Ive been told along the line ....wouldnt know for sure.
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

yes budgies can be very bad if they see any blood on any bird they eat or try and eat it and will not leave it alone until it is dead so they can be a big bully

I was always under the impression that budgies weren't safe with finches, but since the rise of the bush budgie I have read of some people who've kept them with finches.
Sounds like it's not worth the risk - shame because they're little beauties with much more character than any neophema.

i would not keep them togther you will end up with died or one legged finches they will also kill most fleglings that donot move of their perch in time .
i keep scarlet and turk mutations with most of my finches with no problem.
