Where could I order some rings for my birdies?
Would like split rings for finches and some slightly larger birds.
Would prefer mail order.
Thanks in advance for assistance,
mm.

The super cheap ones on eBay are fine for larger finches (Gouldian size and marginal for painteds/stars) - I've got hundreds of these if you want a few? For OBs (and other littlies) I use the aluminium ones and buy them mailorder from Bird R Us. They seem to stock a range of sizes so give them a call so they can advise on the best sizes for the intended species. I always forget how the sizing works - maybe someone else will chime in?

Lentra direct ...email them first and ask for an invoice and tell them what birds and within a couple of days you will get them in the mail .
Closed , split and plastic and the tools to fit them .
They will even tell you not to use the ebay site they have as it is dearer .

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Or chapmans have good ones . A C Hughes aswell best in the world they claim.Allen Tully also he gets in A C Hughes aswell as simular to chapmans. Then there are the ebay ones that some here use. I use the chapmans aluminium ones but have been thinking of changing to the A C Hughes rings.

I am now getting my rings from Allan Tully.
At the last Shepparton Bird Sale I purchased some of his opened split rings and a small set of ring pliers.
They are so user friendly and because the ring fits into the pliers it closes perfectly round and the join is sq.
Because of them being so good Allan imported a series of coloured numbered rings with my initials on them,
once the ring is on it would be so difficult to remove it etc. without damaging the ring or the leg I guess.
i have put them on Madagascar Weavers which are natorious for squashing metal rings out of shape. These
have beaten even them.
With regard plastic rings the Hughes rings from the UK are in my opinion the best in the quality area.

I get mine from AC Hughes they are very good quality only problem is you can't order on line so have to down load a order form from their web site and either post or fax it to them.
