G'day mates... I'm new here and I was wondering if any of you have a black fronted charcoal zebra finch? Would it be possible to mix these two mutations together? Plus, if yo could post a pic of a BFR CH cock it would be awesome... Cheers

I don't actually understand your question? The black fronted zeb is a early mutation of the charcoal still with prominent zeb markings, The charcoal zeb is a further developed mutation loosing cheek and chest markings. They are both zebs so can be mixed, but the colour will be washed out of the charcoal. Depends on what you are after mutation wise?choyadgreat wrote:Would it be possible to mix these two mutations together?

Do you mean a full Black-fronted with normal check patches, as opposed to the origional Black-fronted, where the black only covered the chest & part of the abdomen?

I only want to see a picture of a Full Black Fronted Zebra sir coz I like the white triangle before his tearmark and the only pics I've seen are severely outdated ones of a Black Front cock...Jayburd wrote:I don't think exports of any australian finches are legal

OK cool
Haha well that's one of the many mutations I have never seen - we don't have lightbacks of any sort here as far as I know

http://zebracrazy.byethost13.com/AllMut.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Been looking at this site as I have 2 different sorts of black fronteds. The 1st has half black fronts and cheek patches and dark face strips. The 2nd has all black fronts and the face strips, confirmed Charcols. The pic on the site shows the black fronted as having an orange head? I love Zebs. There are so many different types in one little almost monochromatic bird.
