Hi all :)
Today I found a jacarini nest in the back of the tea tree!
Finally I know why he's being such a major a**h**e to all the other birds
Funny thing is, he's chosen a high up spot on one of the dead euc branches and is making a noise I always associated cubans? sort of a short harsh trilly thing. when he does it he also spreads his wings and quivers his whole body... normal display behaviour?
I leave for england today, ( :D ) so I won't be here to give them greens etc... have a person looking after them but they can't be here everyday. Would a jacarini raise it's chicks on such meager portions as seed and water? One of my friends had an unexpected winter pop-out of a baby male acarini while they weren't feeding any extras, but perhaps it was just a fluke...
Also got a nesting pair of saints. Same question?
Thanks!!
