I just noticed that 3 of my orange breasted waxbills are having problems purching properly because of curled toe nails- I dont know why I havent noticed it before. I will have to catch the little buggers (what a job in a large aviary) any tips on how to do this delicately. The aviary is 7mtreX2X2. Also is there anything that I can put into the aviary to stop this happening in future. A friend suggested a limestone block ( is this a limetone building block?) but any other help would be appreciated.
Thanks

thanks for the info-how big does the flight cage need to be? I have a 2ftX2ftX3ft canary cage-will this do?

i have rough tree branches and grasses plus different sized purches-for some reason only the orange breasted are effected. However I will put in some rocks as well. The substrate is straw with the aviary up off the ground with a uspended walkway. I have no gravel so this might be part of the problem. Thanks for replyingdjb78 wrote:What I find that helps to keep toe nails down are rocks, rough tree branches and grasses.
