WB also affects the green in non-yellowbacked Gouldians. Greens are much more khaki compared to PB. Interestingly I also find that yellow headed normals have less vivid green compared to blackheadeds. This is especially evident in my blackheaded normals. About half of my blackheads are yellow-beaked (so genetically also yellow-headed). my yellow-beaked blacks are ALWAYS a less vivid grassy green compared to my red-beaked ones. The red-beaked ones also display the blue collar and rump in a far brighter shade. Purple chest shade is also different between the two but this is far more subtle.

Some time back mum/budgiebreeder bought a RHPBGB with paler back and was told it was a split yellow. This is why people get confused! As he was a SF. SF should not be able to see any black ring round the back of the neck, we have now learnt.
As his daughter (with a white spot) when paired to a YHWBYB double factor have produced YB cocks and hens all is good.
