Double Bar Babies

Hi all. Merry Christmas to those that may be on the forum today (I'm sneaking it while my wife is downstairs)...

A pair of my DB's have been in and out of a nest for a few weeks now and I assumed they were gearing up to lay and raise. Three days ago I noticed the sounds of babies each time the DB went into the next so I think there are baby DB's.

I read somewhere on the forum (tried searching for it but no luck) that you shouldn't pry around the DB's nest. So just wandering if there are any experienced DB breeders out there that could advise whether it would be okay to have a look in the nest (to confirm there are young ones).

iv never kept them, but i would say leave them be. i know its hard not to look but i think it would be a better option.

There is no reason to check any nests in my opinion(excluding nest boxes) the only thing it does is satisfies your curiosity and can
end up a deserted nest. Your call but is it worth the risk.

Agree totally with E Orix, to many young have been deserted over unwarranted prying. ( Feel like a hypocrite, totally guilty of it myself as a young tacker)

It is hard and I still have to fight my impulse to just check but its not worth it.
You will get the real buzz when you walk out to your aviary and you see your 1st youngster infact I still get the buzz no matter how common or rare
the specie is
