Thats right it is a european goldfinch cock.He was the first bird i bought for the new birdroom and hes a cracking singer now that hes settled in.Theres plenty of them flying around over here but its illegal to trap them so we have to pay quite a bit for captive bred birds which i totally agree with.Altough it would be so easy to catch them by the way he attracts them to the birdroom with his singing
I'm sure they have been introduced to some parts of australia.
great pics Steve.
looking forward to seeing a pic when all of those cages are filled up.
if you could fill out the location part of your profile it would be great, makes it easier for people when trying to give answers to questions.
very tidy looking bird room Steve. And yes we do have both captive and wild goldfinches here. They are very cheap to buy here,As people can trap the wild ones legaly,As the are introduced.Around $8 Au each i have seen them for sale.
Im sure I saw one of those in the garden just yesterday, but I dismissed it as I didnt think there was any in Australia.
It was the head colour that first caught my eye, thought it might be a gouldian, hubby saw it too so I wasnt trippin!
Guess somebody lost a bird.
