I need some help and advice
I have not kept any of the African Mannikins or Silverbills and would like to know how they compare to the Australians (Chestnut-breasted, Yellow-rumped and Pictorella finches). So I can make some informed decisions.
Any help on set-ups, compatibility and behavioural traits to look out for or avoid would be appreciated, Thanks.
Are Australian Mannikins as agressive as African Mannikins?

I am interested in purchasing any of the more unusual Lonchura species and/or their subspecies. Particularly the Asian Munias or New Guinea Mannikins. If you have some and wish to sell them, PM me with the type, quantity and price
I will buy related or unrelated birds. I am also happy to organise and pay freight from anywhere in Australia.

I have kept numerous types of Mannikins(Munias) and with out doubt the African in particular Rufous Back are far more agressive.
Over the years I have found the Aust. and Asian Munias quite docile.

African Silverbills seem just as placid as any other munia/mannikin. Rufous-backed can be real Jekyl/Hydes to other birds and their own kind (One of very few species I have bred which have killed their own mate on more than one occasion)
. Of the natives, Chestnut are most boisterous and Pictorellas are the most placid.
