Took pity on a Gouldian in crappy Petshop and bought him and his cute sidekick.Noticed that his chest is protruding a bit and he just has a funny shape to him.He seems happy enough chattering and eating etc.Anyone know if he looks ok ? And also what kind of Yellow is he as he looks like a 'dirty' Yellow Ive put pics up of him at his worse and one of him looking okish

Hopefully they are both moulting. But a dose of Spark would not go astray.

Get them out again in the morning - they need to be quarantined for 4-6 weeks looking like that. Worm them twice in that time. Check that droppings are normal with nothing "bad" (newspaper on cage floor and then ship paper to a vet for a check).

Re quaranteen ...while he is pooping and rubbing his beak on perches he is transferring any thing he has to the aviary .
I agree that they should be taken out ASAP and watched closely / wormed and given a nutrient rich diet . The pet shop needs kicking up the bum for selling birds that dont look right , not only for the birds sake but for any birds they may infect .
Good luck and I hope they are OK , they both look to be nice little birds ,just not well ...and good on you for wanting to give them a better deal than the pet shop .

Oh been thinking , maybe the ruffled feathers are only giving the appearance of a enlarged chest . A healthy bird holds its feathers tight giving a smoother body shape .0
