Hi guys,
Just thought I'd get some opinions on what to do as I'm not quite sure. In the last couple of days, I have found young pied Parrot finches on the floor due to hot days. They hang that far out of the nest trying to cool down, that some have fallen out. 4 in total from two different nests, all about 10 days old. Now what I'm not too sure on, is what should I do with these birds? Leave them on the floor, or try and get them back in their nests? I don't have access to the entrances of one of the nests, so to put them back, would mean destroying the nest.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have put them back on a couple of occasions but if you arent sure which one is from which nest it could be a bit difficult.
When I have young that fledge early I usually put a box on the floor near the nest they fell out of pop the babies in and leave the lid off. The parents usually carry on feeding.

Check and make sure there isnt an ant problem around the nests...I found this out the hard way and lost 5 clutches of gouldain babies
If they are mobile enough they will move out of the nest to get away from the ants..

Yeah,
I have encountered the ant problem myself, and I'd be up to about 5 nests devastated by them. But I'm well aware of the ant problem now. I spray Coopex around the nest when I know I have babies. The ants either go for dead young or more commonly for a broken egg in the nest. These birds don't have an ant problem, just a heat issue. I'm thinking that the 5 young might be creating a great deal of heat within the nest. But its keeping them alive once they have fallen out, that I'm concerned about. Just frustrated that I can't get them back in the nest.
