Did you watch "On a wing and a Prayer" Last night on ABC? Need to encourage everyone to plant at least one suitable feed tree per 500sqm within their range. And really do something about the lowlifes with the rifles. Have sent the link to my daughter.

It will be available on DVD soon as well I'm pretty sure. Was a great show, very sad to see their plight, but a nice story. Had the greatest afternoon today as well, was surrounded by probably 100 carnabies, and a dozen red tails kept passing by, all in my own backyard for over an hour. Were a few young ones, and all were very patient with me and allowed me close enough to get some beautiful photos, and hilarious videos. One of those real life affirming moments for me, keeps me going with my wish to help our flora and fauna and preserve what we have now for future generations to enjoy.

Just watched the show. The comment made by Rick is still echoing in my mind. He hopes his grandchildren and their child have the opportunity to see these cockatoo's.
As I type this I am looking out the window wondering if will be the same for the local population of Glossy and Yellow tail Blacks.
Life in Port Macquarie is the ultimate Aussie sea change lifestyle.

Probably will be the same in time .
Just a case of most urgent getting the recognition first me thinks .

Seriously have to wonder about the impact the Corellas are having on the threatened parrots ..love Corellas BUT not at the expense of other birds .
Poachers , farmers shooting them , disease , jhabitat loss and natural calamities ...all this = 1 in 10 reaching maturity ...sad

Makes a serious point for controlled (read quota) trapping and selling, possibly including exporting, Corellas and maybe even Galahs.
