A bloke at the Canberra sale was selling a heap of winter grass, so I got 4 plants. Plenty of seed already on them, and I planted them in buckets.
Put a bucket in the aviary just now, and I can't see it for the horde of feeding finches!!! they really love it. Glad I got four!
Just wondering if anyone else got some from him? and also how big these grasses grow :)
Thanks~!

 you should have come it's good to meet forum members and there were a few there, not to mention the birds.
$4 a clump, not bad.

Just put the soaked seed out to drain, and the white millet heads on the stem I collected from a friend's allotment are being taken with great relish :D I think it might just be my year.

Winter grass is a small plant compared to most seeding grasses. Grows well in shady areas.

Looks like Panic to me Jay. Although you are still right, it is a 'winter' grass.

Definately not Winter Grass, Poa annua. Looks a bit like Panic Velt, just as good but.
