Nooo its not for worms its for bacteria ... cigarette butts are suppose to kill worms guess when one dies of nicotine poisoning then they are def free of a worm problem

So deb how strong is the cordial mix? Is it worth giving it a try to sick birds or just use every now and then to whole flocks. Crocnshas that's a great idea to add cordial to worming solution.
Red = Raspberry and Cottees is the one used by old fella . Think I used Golden Circle .
Daughter gives it to kids when they have an upset belly , maybe its just getting red cordial as a treat makes them feel good or maybe the cordial does kill bacteria making them feel better .

Depending upon the wormer you'd possibly need more than red cordy to hide the taste!! Praziquental for tapeworms is the really bitter taste - lab registered by Bayer and comes from tree bark (??) I seem to remember.
We use good old brown sugar to hide the taste/as sweetener and know of others that use Sweet Addins from Penfolds (I think) if you're in NSW.
Might I be so bold as to suggest if u have a worm problem that you treat the finches directly with one drop (actual single finch dose rate) of Avitrol Plus (but do not use as a flock treatment at the given dose rate!!!)
Follow that up 2-3 days later - given u know u have a problem based on the autopsy - with the same gear........just in case...........
Then either Panacur 100, Cydectin Plus or Equimax Liquid Allwormer as a flock treatment ~14 days later..........the other stuff you mentioned makes a handy paper weight or projectile for possums!!
Aint no vet mind ya just a plodder but worms bee's me pet hate!!!
Just to confirm, you are suggesting we deliver ONE DROP of Avitrol Plus direct to the beak of a Finch say Red Faced Parrot Finch
and repeat the process again 2/3 days later. Is the eye dropper supplied with the medication good enough.
I shudder when total worming is done in the water especially on hot days.
Yassah that's wot I would do - the 2-3 days later only in this case where autopsy has determined there is a problem. ........"just in case" and I did stress the "I would" part of that..............!! Of course that wont stop/ease impaction..........but if the infestation is that severe.....well..........6 of 1............
If worried about the dropper or where the liquid could go then I'd use a crop needle - much, much more accurate........dont have a bottle in front of me but believe the dose rate equates to a single drop.........0r 25mls/litre in a water bowl if you like Russian Roulette!!!
Know a well-known chap from WA does the same thing during quarantine..................and it was his experiences together with mine that made me write the previous reply...................
Your choice of a RFPF suggests to me you've seen what Avitrol Plus can do as a flock treatment at the correct dose to certain species!!...........drop wise undiluted never had a problem (touching wood as I type!!) and did 7 Redface like that about a month ago and all are going well............all ####### males but all going well!
Never had a problem with flock water bowl treatments and before the climate jokes go around our aviaries are fully enclosed and 15 outside can equate to hi-20's inside..........or much, much higher!!!

Went to Bunnings today and bought Eucy mix and spread it around the dirt area of the aviary. Bought some different worn mix Worm Edna Plus went to 2 pet shops
and then ended up at Pet Barn the guy was very helpful. The canary looks okay I think because he was not singing I thought he was sick. The finch looks alot
better but will keep him in the cage for a few more days. Thanks guys for all your replies.
