ask most youngsters though and they have almost no idea what the slang aussie means, use americam slang and the kids are all over it

Aussie rhyming slang actually originated as the English Cockney rhyming slang, I hate to say.
Here's a few I like.
Bruce reed = Feed
Robert flower(vic footballer) = Shower, shower also got changed to David Gower and Stephanie power where i lived
John Dory = Story
Barry Crocker= Shocker
Gary Ablett = Tablet

when leaving often folk would say, I'm off like a bucket of prawns in the sun or I'm off like mums undies on fathers day, or I'm off like a jewish foreskin and many more were made up.

I rather Aigoo and Onnie and such
