Whole Egg Powder

Farm Pride Whole Egg Powder is prepared from spray dried pasteurised fresh hen eggs. It does not contain added salt, preservatives, colours or flavours.

Applications:
Use in all recipes requiring whole egg for binding and coagulating characteristics. Ideal for use in pasta, packet crumb mixes, dry cake mixes, pancake mixes, drink mixes, batters, biscuits and cosmetics. It is recommended for applications where aerating is not critical.

Storage and shelf life:
8°C to 15°C, shelf life is two years from date of manufacture.

I'm pleased we have started a good conversation on this....

Went to Coles today & the only thing that they could offer me was 'egg free' powdered substitute. I assume now, that the people at Coles had no idea. Just did a quick web search & found a company 'Asian Grocery Store' that sells the Farm Pride powder for AUD$5.95 for the 150grams, which is the equilvelent of a dozen eggs. Unfortunately they are out of stock....It is displayed next to a packet od 'Cooked salty Duck Eggs...sounds like a bargin of a packet of 8 for AUD$8.75
I think I may try Coles on-line and see what happens......

decent shelf life too.

I remember when I was in Melbourne you could buy it directly from the larger commercial egg producers straight from the farm.

There must be an equivalent for you locally but you may have to drive to the outlying areas where commercial egg farming is carried out.

Let us know how you go, Rip, but at the end of the day I wonder if there is any point in reinventing the wheel.

Tiaris's advice is spot on- Goulds are more interested in greens than protein. The trick to getting them interested is to combine it with their favourite green, and if there isn't a "teacher" bird already then include a bird of a species which is already eating the product to show the Gouldians what to do.

Just like jusdeb said,buy on line and it isn't as dear as others are saying but i have tried what you are trying to do many years ago and that was for canaries and siskens not gouldians,and worked quite well.Tiaris is right what he said so why would you try to feed home made soft foods that could make your birds so fat that they don't want to breed Craig

I just came home, after buying 'Spray Dried Whole Egg' powder, from Pace Eggs @ Minchinbury (an outer suburb of Sydney) $15 for 400 grams, not a great deal of money, and more than enough to experiment with.
