E Orix, thanks mate I reckon without resorting to many of the other options suggested here, I might fit a system like the one you have suggested. Although in saying that, I am teetering on the edge of trapping the mongrels and taking a nice drive out to the country for some "Sight seeing..."I have had cat problems and possum problems and they have been moved on.
Today no problems,I simply fitted and electric cattle fence unit around the top edge of my set up and no worries now.
All under $200 and most likely saves me twice that much each year. And I can sleep relaxed at least for that area.

I just realised the that house next door to tintola is for sale because they might have been allergic to dobermans....seriously a good electric fence, battery operated ones are good if you dont want to pay for extra power, I have one but its not in use as I havnt seen a cat in ages....you may need to try several of options available as some cats dont learn and will keep coming back..... good luck with it....Pete

Yes I agree on NOT doing this.taking a nice drive out to the country for some "Sight seeing...
We live not far out of town and get heartily sick of the number of dumped cats turning up at our place.
They mostly turn up in one of our fox traps and are shot which is preferable to the dogs finding them first.
