Yes, peacocks make a noise, like a someone yelling for help! I always like the sound of them, moreso than the guineas, which are good watch dogs. I used guineas in my gardens, they love to eat snakes and ticks namely, but other insects also. There are different colors of peacocks, the Java Greens are beautiful, one of the more expensive, lemon eyes, which are white, with the eye on the feather yellow. There the whites and the pieds, which are a white and indiblue cross. They are all beautiful. Never, had much problem with them getting on the house roof, and I did have many running around the farm.
Lukec, thanks for the photo, victoria crowned pigeons, are the most beautiful, to me that is. The economic investment is well worth it! The photos on my old Canon Powershot A70, are very dark, as are some of the horses, but was happy that card was not reformatted!

It has been a warm feeling to know, so many people love the button quail (king quail), or chinese painted quail as I know them. Lots of my nieghbors fell in love with them and bought them from me to let lose in there green houses, as I did. Here is a tray of a couple hundred hatching.



I kept them in aquariums, placed washable shelf liner on the bottom, and put marbles in the water (lids) dishes. Covered with vita lights, heating pad under towel, under the tanks, and monitored temp and humidity for them.



It tickles me to read the post of how they jump striaght up - or what we call the "boink factor."
