Yep it's that time of year again. The mice and rats hit us, and we hit back with poison and a good Jack Russell to hunt them down.

May last year went through NW Vic on way to Broken Hill. Couldn't work out what all the marks on the road were, blamed it on the cricket plague caused by the floods. On the way back it was night and the novelty wore off after a while - no need to aim for the furry little blighters, they were crossing the road in swarms and I reckon you'd get at least a dozen every time you went across bunch.

I've been getting a few here over the last couple of months  ,first notice a pile of dirt heaped on the floor of the aviary and then the hole appears :x out comes the bait and slowly they disappear. I only put bait around the outside of the aviary if, the weather is going to be good for a few day i use Deb instant potato works a treat

Lady was telling me her mouse problem has dissapeared ...
She has more than a couple of browns snakes taking residence , chased one down a hole which literlly exploded with mice trying to get away from the snake ..
Myself would rather tackle the mice than the King Browns anyday .

That happens here too Deb. Mice arrive, very quickly followed by the snakes. Hate mice. Try to relocate some of the snakes.
Depends where and when I see them, if this is possible, or if it's a quick death.

How do you use Deb instant potato? Is it the bait or an attractant?

Oz I've never used it but the method is to supply flakes and a nearby drink. Mice eat flakes, water swells flakes in tummy and ka-booom. It may be an old wives tale, plenty of web sites say it doesn't really work.
