Thats a serious bit of desert engineering , glows in the dark, two sets of claws out front and quite friendly.

Digs a big spiral tunnel going 2 metres underground , protects young ones , lovely critter.

Great pics DB!
Here's one of my odd pets. Was a fat female that was found at my work, they kept it for me (yes, even my workmates/bosses know I'm a nature nut

) and I kept it for a couple of months, feeding it with small crickets and termites.
Common marbled scorpion. Only a few cm long.

Yes, yes, she was pregnant. It was amazing. The young LOVED little termites. After a few feeds and 2 sheds (I think, maybe only one), they hopped off mum's back and made their own way into the world. I released them all into my backyard

Perve.
When I was a kid we used to visit a Great Aunt in Ganmain (Riverina NSW). There was a Funnel Web spider that lived in a crack in the plaster wall near the cornice above the lounge suite and would sit there just watching you. We were terrified of going in to the lounge room, expecting it to jump on us and eat us at any moment.
Years later a niece of mine had a pet bird eating spider in PNG. We saw big ones occasionally up there (and one about 6" wide lived in the dunny down the back yard) but they weren't as scary as Aunty Eva's "pet" coz we knew it was big but not lethal

.

Remember not to walk barefoot round Spanna's place.
