Be careful what you wish for - some zoos won't let you keep at home what you have at work just so the audit chain appears clean as government scrutiny of their stock is even more strict than what the domestic hobbyist has to put up with.

Well done Spanna, Greg is right about keeping birds at home,im supposed to apply each year to the CEO , as it can be classed as outside employment

. I can keep what i like but the keepers at the park arent allowed to keep any species held at the park. We have a new director so possibly he will have a different view of things, will be chattingto him about that when he settles in.If its a Government job it will pay to check rather than any questions being asked later on. Good luck, i can imagine you would be a wee bit excited.

It will be interesting to see how you with your own collection Spanna , it can be very easy to loose some interest when you ae working with birds all day.

I'll definitely check up on that. May have to get a license in my girlfriends name

No no, wouldn't do anything dodgy. They have very few finches at the park, so most of my collection would be safe, but I will double check. It is privately owned, which may make a difference too.
I don't see my passion for finch keeping ever diminishing, but I can see where you're coming from desertbirds. I don't see it happening, but time will tell! And you're right, a wee bit excited is an understatement! I won't only be working with birds either, get to do occasional rotations with the other animals too! The diversity of birds is enough to keep me occupied though!!
