I had ignored this on of my list because it's run by the Parrot Society, so I had presumed just parrots. How much of a representation of finches can we expect?

I might go, though buying finches in mid-Winter isn't ideal...or I might just wait for the Finch Society sale in Spring. Help me to decide! Any reports from last year's Parrot Society sale, from a finch point of view?

I know of a few finch breeders going. There's usually a pretty good range of all the under $100 a pair species and a smattering of the more expensive stuff. I'll be going - I've just been catching birds from my holding aviary so I'll have OBs, RC Cordons, Ruddies, Stars, Longtails, Painted and Plumheads. And maybe a pair of maskeds and diamonds.

Quick sale review...
Lots of sellers - more than 250.
Lots of parrots including a few more expensive ones - I don't know who would buy such birds at a sale.
In terms of finches...
A good range of all the less than $100 pair species apart from licenced birds.
Lots of tri-colours ranging from $90, $120, $140 and I even spotted a pair for $180.
The parrot bloke near me had 3 or 4 pairs of Auroras he was selling for a mate - I'm not 100% sure he knew what they were ($80 pair - they didn't sell).
Lots of Cordons with a few sellers selling them for $60 pair - I stuck it out and sold most of mine for $70.
I barely sold any licensed birds but sold most of everything else.

I met quite a few AFF members including lyn, matcho, shaun from this thread. I also gave out a heap of AFF flyers to new and many younger finchos and might have conned a few older ones to join.

Sam had the cleanest birds there......his selling cabinet is brilliant....I know he is open to any offers for it, but it would take a pair or two of Pekin Robins to part with it...

Cheers Ripley
