Harvey rats and mice love coolroom panels for nesting in etc.So make sure you seal it very well. I have some in storage and they love it.

Hey harvey , the only aviary I am regretting building and having big mouse problems with is the one with the double walls ans insulation.
The mice are in the walls and now they go in there to die after they eat the baits and are stinking the aviary to high heaven .
At the point where I could gladly burn it down and start again .

I M O Id use the insulated panels for roofing and thats all . Too late once its up and way too late once the mice find a way in .

Just sharing from my experience OK might be wrong but worth thinking about .

AND the aviary is no cooler than any of the others , and no warmer either , the silly birds sleep in the open anyway . Waste of time $$$$ and effort .

i see you point deb , but from some of the breeders i have seen it dont , i love it ,
if done correctly . and using correct joiners ect .

ill give it a go and hey if it doesnt work , i know for future use .
we Can only learn from your mistakes

what instilatiod did you used ? i had same issue because mice would get in between he the wall , thats what i love about cool room pannels , he mice and rats cant get in between the walls .

:) just have to see how i go :D

hope all works out well i will post pics

Jake, all it needs is small unintentional hole you don't notice and you're history.

Time to listen to some older, wiser heads again methinks.

Do what i wish I'd done earlier - use skylight pespex or aluminium sheeting between flights up to 500mm. Then you can use wire the rest of the way up.
