I could be wrong but this is what Ive observed from mine .
I recently threw out the eggs that didnt hatch from my recent clutch (5 hatchlings of which 2 died). All of the remaining eggs had dead young in them some more than likely only needing a little more time such as a day but the hen seems to leave after the first 5-6 eggs hatch.

Just did the water test,there where no sinkers,2 eggs where 45% above water line the other 10 eggs just under water line.will just wait and see.vettepilot_6 wrote:1. Sinker= Dud, Never Developed

You could put him and one of the hens in a smaller cage for a week or two. Less to distract him in a small cage. So more likely to do his job.

If hens head is bald...he is doing his job
....at one stage I had 3 males a 11 bald headed females
