I always thought my finches went quiet for the butcher bird because they we're scared. I'd never realised they were actually giving a minutes silence for the fallen

Willie wagtails do a melodic whistle (often at night) as well as the usual scratchy daytime call.

But I think he is more concerned about his leg-lifting activity being curtailed
And a nearby

farmer has had to stop whistling "There will never be another You"

Have willy wagtails here, they whistle at night and early morning and make some other sound during the day

Will have to google willie wagtail whistle, though it sounded more like a larger bird call (eg butcher bird) but not melodic like butcher birds usually are.
