It depends on how many other birds are in it with the 28 Diamonds.
There was a person living in the ACT who kept large numbers of Diamonds(only though) in a far smaller area.
The breeding birds set the others into breeding mode and the results were quite amazing.
Personally I wouldn't keep that many because of interference and health reasons.
There was also that person in Stawell,Victoria B O'Gorman,he kept more than 28 diamonds in aviaries around that size, probably double that and they were all breeding. Craig

Are they receiving copious amounts of green grass seed soaked/sprouted seed and veg ?
My lot only achieved success with tonnes of green grass seeds , panics , veldt , windmill , rye , guinea grass and palm grass ... you name it , they get it !
They are big fans of chicory (flowers and seeds) , broccoli , black kale and slav cabbage also .
One seed they devour with vigor is sesame ... its always first to go out of the "alternative herb and grass seed mix" that I do .
Mine only take a minimum of live food for some reason ?
They had their first clutch beginning of the year (only 2) in January and followed that up with a clutch of 4 that are nearly ready to fledge .
Preserve and you'll achieve success .... good luck .

It always surprises me how people have success with such different methods. I've had diamonds for years and I've never had them breed well in colonies whereas 1 pair in a mixed aviary can fledge 3-5 chicks pretty much continually for years. New pairs are often hard to get going and if they don't get on with it then I swap the cock for another. It's really best to pair them up young and let them mature together. Corn is the absolute favourite for all my diamonds.

Have upped the supply of green food, tonic mix and Lebanese cucumber. I hear cries for food coming from one of the nests
